8 March 2010: The Global Environment Facility’s Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel (GEF STAP) held an open meeting at the International Fund for Agricultural Development’s (IFAD) headquarters in Rome, Italy, with representatives from GEF agencies, the GEF Secretariat, GEF Evaluation Office and Conventions, and observers from the GEF Council.
5 March 2010: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has circulated volume 8 of its “REDD-plus & Biodiversity e-Newsletter,” which includes a call for the poster session organized around the theme “Biodiversity and Climate Change: Achieving the 2020 Targets.” The poster session will take place at the 14th meeting of the CBD Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA), to be held from 10-21 May 2010, in Nairobi, Kenya.
19 February 2010: The International Civil Aviation Authority’s (ICAO) Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection’s (CAEP) met at ICAO headquarters from 1-12 February 2010, in Montreal, Canada, and announced the ICAO’s commitment to the development of a carbon dioxide standard for commercial aircraft by 2013. This effort would result in the first global fuel-efficiency standard for any industry sector.
4 March 2010: The 19 members of the High-Level Advisory Group on Climate Change Financing, which was set up by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in February 2010, have been announced.
March 2010: The UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has published its Trade and Environment Review 2009/2010, which contains some 20 essays on the topic “Promoting Poles of Clean Growth to Foster the Transition to a More Sustainable Economy.” 
2 March 2010: Speaking at the eighth Informal Meeting on Further Action against Climate Change, which took place in Tokyo, Japan, from 1-2 March 2010, Yvo de Boer, UNFCCC Executive Secretary, stressed the need for the climate change negotiations to get off to a good start following Copenhagen, and for confidence in the process to be rebuilt. 
2 March 2010: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon delivered the “Bernard Brodie Lecture on Conditions for Peace” at the University of California, in Los Angeles, California, US, on 2 March 2010. He noted the interconnections in today’s global world, highlighting the global financial and food crises, climate change, and global terrorism. 
2 March 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released notifications to parties and observer States to the UNFCCC and its Kyoto Protocol, UN Secretariat units and bodies, specialized agencies and related oranizations regarding the 11th session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP 11) and the ninth session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA 9), which are scheduled to take place in Bonn, Germany from 9-11 April 2010. 
March 2010: Documents for the 2010 Climate Investment Funds (CIF) Partnership Forum, which will gather CIF stakeholders to share lessons learned from the CIF design process and from early implementation of CIF-funded programmes, have been posted online. Also available online is a draft document titled ”Looking Ahead for Lessons in the Climate Investment Funds: Emerging Themes for Learning,” which is open for comments.
