18 March 2010: The small island developing States (SIDS) of the AIMS (Africa, Indian Ocean, Mediterranean and South China Sea) region met in Male, Maldives, from 9-10 March 2010, to review progress achieved in the implementation of the Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the Barbados Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of SIDS (MSI). 12 March 2010: The World Health Organization (WHO) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) have launched the first global project on public health adaptation to climate change. The project involves a series of pilot projects that will seek to increase the adaptive capacity of national health system institutions, including field practitioners, to respond to health risks associated with climate variability and change.
