10 September 2009: The Division for Sustainable Development (DSD), of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), has posted member States’ submissions of input towards the Secretary-General’s report on Climate Change and Possible Security Implications.
September 2009: The Executive Board of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is convening its 182nd session from 7-23 September 2009. 
1 September 2009: During a meeting with Danish Minister of Development Cooperation Ulla Toernaes, UN Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator Helen Clark received a torch symbol of the Millennium Development Goal on gender equality and women empowerment (MDG3). 
6 August 2009: The 40th Pacific Islands Forum convened in Cairns, Australia, from 5-6 August 2009, and concluded with a call by Pacific leaders to action on climate change. 
4 August 2009: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has announced that the UN Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) has joined several other UN agencies and organizations that are encouraging governments to reach an ambitious and effective global climate agreement in Copenhagen this December, by supporting the UN’s “Seal the Deal!” campaign. 
16 July 2009: On 14 July 2009, the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) conducted a round table discussion on the theme “Towards a UN comprehensive response to the challenges of climate change” as part of its Coordination Segment, and on 15 July 2009, the Operational Activities Segment opened with a thematic panel discussion on “The current economic, food and climate change crises and their effects on the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals: the role of the UN System’s support to national efforts.”
26 June 2009: The UN Population Fund (UNFPA), and the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), in collaboration with the Population Division of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT), held a workshop from 24-25 June 2009, in London, UK, on population dynamics and climate change. 
24 June 2009: The Global Humanitarian Forum took place from 23-24 June 2009, in Geneva, Switzerland, and was organized around the theme “Human Impact of Climate Change.” 
16 June 2009: The UN Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries (UN-REDD Programme) held its second Policy Board Meeting from 14-15 June 2009, in Montreux, Switzerland.
