6 December 2009: Ahead of the UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference, the UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service (UN-NGLS) launched a publication titled "Climate Justice for a Changing Planet: A Primer for Policy Makers and NGOs," which examinesthe intersection of equity and justice in the context of the current climate change debate.
2 December 2009: Ahmed Djoghlaf, Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Executive Secretary, has underlined the potential synergies among the Rio Conventions, noting that discussions on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD) will be an important part of the Copenhagen climate change negotiations.
1 December 2009: In his opening statement to the Women's International Forum held in New York, US, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon highlighted that, beyond being the most affected by climate change and other social problems, women must be recognized as principal agents in curbing global warming and achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
December 2009: The December Bulletin of the World Health Organization (WHO) includes an article titled "Slums, climate change and human health in sub-Saharan Africa.
30 November 2009: The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) launched a guide titled "Biodiversity and Livelihoods: REDD Benefits," which provides an array of tools and examples for how synergies in the implementation of the UNFCCC and the CBD can be achieved through reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD).
20 November 2009: African ministers responsible for gender and women's affairs met at the Eighth Regional Conference on Women (Beijing +15) Review Meeting from 16-20 November 2009, in Banjul, the Gambia, under the aegis of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). 
18 November 2009: Gender equality experts discussed strategies to empower African women at an expert session of the Eighth African Regional Conference on Women (Beijing +15), which convened in Banjul, the Gambia, on 17-18 November 2009. 
18 November 2009: Robert Zoellick, World Bank President, stated that indigenous peoples carry a “disproportionate share of the burden of climate change effects” during a roundtable on Indigenous Peoples and Climate Change, organized by the World Bank and First Peoples Worldwide, in Washington DC, US. 
18 November 2009: The UN Population Fund (UNFPA) has launched The State of World Population 2009 Report, which is sub-titled “Facing a Changing World: Women, Population and Climate Change.”
