15 March 2010: During a meeting on 15 March 2010, in Brussels, Belgium, the Council of the Environment Ministers of the EU adopted conclusions on climate change regarding the “Follow-up to the Copenhagen Conference.” 
3 March 2010: The Ramsar Convention’s Scientific and Technical Review Panel (STRP) met in Gland, Switzerland, from 22-26 February 2010, for its ‘mid-term workshops’ to further progress its 2009-2012 Work Plan. 
12 March 2010: The Fifth Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health, which was held in Parma, Italy, from 10-12 March 2010, was a carbon-neutral event organized around the theme “Protecting children’s health in a changing environment.” The Conference concluded with the adoption by 53 European Governments of the Parma Declaration on Health and Environment. 
12 March 2010: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Stockholm Convention Secretariat has informed it will carry out a 12-month international study of the influence of climate change and persistent organic pollutants (POPs) on human health and the environment. The study, which was announced during the fifth Environment and Health Ministerial Conference held in Parma, Italy, from 10-12 March 2010, will involve over 10 organizations in five countries and will review the latest science to inform the assessment of current and new POPs. 
12 March 2010: The UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) have begun collecting data on the state of forests and forest management in Europe. Data will be collected from 46 countries in the European region, and will include information on forest health and vitality, productive and protective functions, biodiversity and social and economic dimensions of forest management.
10 March 2010: At a press conference held on 10 March 2010, at UN Headquarters in New York, US, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Chair Rajendra Pachauri launched an Independent Review of the IPCC’s processes and procedures. 
9 March 2010: The European Environment Agency has published the third biodiversity message in its series of ‘10 messages for 2010,’ which focuses on freshwater ecosystems, and highlights links with climate change.
