15 September 2010: The Ninth Conference of Parliamentarians of the Arctic Region, hosted by the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, from 13-15 September 2010, produced a statement addressing, among other things, climate change issues.
16 September 2010: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP), UN Development Programme (UNDP) and Global Environment Facility (GEF) launched a joint report synthesizing the results of the National Capacity Self-Assessment (NCSA) programme, launched in January 2000, to deepen knowledge on countries’ foundational capacities to meet global environmental objectives.
16 September 2010: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) launched the executive summary of a new report, titled “Scientific Assessment of Ozone Depletion 2010,” on the UN International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. The report, by UNEP and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), offers the first comprehensive update on ozone depletion in four years, and provides new information on the effects of climate change on the ozone layer, as well as the impact of ozone changes on the Earth's climate.
16 September 2010: The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) announced the launch of a Regional Cooperative Mechanism on Drought Monitoring and Early Warning.
