14 May 2010: The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) held a Colloquium on Aviation and Climate Change from 11-14 May 2010, at ICAO headquarters in Montreal, Canada.
14 May 2010: Delegates at the 18th session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD 18) focused on the thematic cluster of transport, chemicals, waste management, mining, and sustainable consumption and production patterns, and conducted a one-day preparatory committee meeting for the five-year high-level review of the Mauritius Strategy for the Implementation (MSI+5) of the Barbados Plan of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

May 2010: The monthly newsletter of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) features an article on the role of affordable transport in achieving sustainable development and the Millennium Development Goals (MGDs).
May 2010: The Global Environment Facility (GEF) has contributed US$6 million to produce six fuel cell buses that will be used to shuttle visitors at the World EXPO 2010 "Better City - Better Life."
6 May 2010: The Third Conference on International Air Transport Cooperation took place in Seoul, Republic of Korea, from 6-7 May 2010. In an opening address, Raymond Benjamin, Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), spoke about the three components of an efficient global air transport sector: safety, security and sustainability. 
3 May 2010: The 18th session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD 18) is meeting in New York, US, to consider the thematic cluster of transport, chemicals, waste management, mining, and the 10-year framework of programmes on sustainable consumption and production patterns (SCP).
28 April 2010: The European Commission has tabled a technology-neutral strategy on clean and energy-efficient vehicles, which aims to strengthen the European car industry while contributing to European leadership in climate change and clean transport. 
27 April 2010: National coordinators for the Trans-European Motorway (TEM) and Trans-European Railway (TER) projects from 13 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the Caucasus adopted the “Innsbruck Initiative for safe, secure, prosperous and environmentally friendly transport” on 23 April 2010.
