11 December 2009: The "Weekly" bulletin of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) for 14-18 December 2009 reports on the UNECE fourth Regional Implementation Meeting on Sustainable Development, held on 1-2 December 2009, in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting addressed sustainable transport, production and consumption, among other issues.
7 December 2009: The "Weekly" bulletin of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) for 7-11 December 2009 reported on the international conference "Blue Fuel for Blue Sky," which convened on 25 November 2009, in Sofia, Bulgaria. 
4 December 2009: The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the city of Copenhagen, Denmark, organized a Children's Climate Forum from 28 November-4 December 2009, in the run up to the 15th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 15).
4 December 2009: The first session of the Committee on Environment and Development of the UN Environment and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) convened from 2-4 December 2009, in Bangkok, Thailand, and focused its discussions on development through Green Growth. 
3 December 2009: The Universal Postal Union (UPU), the UN specialized agency for postal services, has released the results of its first worldwide survey, which estimates that Posts in its 191 member countries generated at least 26 million tons of carbon dioxide in 2008 through the operation of postal vehicles and buildings, or 0.07% of total worldwide emissions.
1 December 2009: The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) will celebrate International Civil Aviation Day on 7 December 2009 around the theme "65 years of empowering the global community through aviation," highlighting its role in the dialogue on global climate change. 
November 2009: The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has published a special issue of its bi-monthly journal titled "Planetary Priorities: ICAO and aviation stakeholders weigh-in on our best options for a sustainable air transport future."
25 November 2009: The World Health Organization (WHO), together with an international team of health and environmental scientists, has produced the first global study identifying the health implications of different mitigation strategies in high and low-income countries.
