- DescriptionThis is the fourth of a series of five training workshops organized by the Least Developed Countries Group (LEG) in collaboration with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and its agencies. The workshop is targeting Lusophone LDCs and one recently graduated Lusophone LDCs, comprising in total five parties to the UNFCCC. The workshop and materials will be entirely in Portuguese. The training aims to: provide technical support to Least Developed Country (LDC) teams in the design of an implementation strategy for the NAPAs, and to build capacity of these teams in the preparation and submission of project documents to the GEF under the LDF Fund (LDCF); and, where needed, to provide technical support to those LDC parties that are still preparing their NAPAs.

- DescriptionThis workshop is organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in collaboration with the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat. It aims to increase the number of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects in countries currently hosting fewer than ten registered CDM projects. The workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge on recent developments on CDM modalities, identifying and overcoming barriers for the promotion of CDM projects in their countries and related technical, financial and policy issues. The workshop also offers one-on-one discussion with the ADB team of experts to discuss project structuring and options to move forward. The workshop is a first of a series targeting participation from seven countries with less than ten registered CDM projects, namely: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

- DescriptionThis high-level portion of the Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP) meeting will bring together Commissioners of the European and African Unions, ministers responsible for energy issues, and others, to reinforce and promote energy cooperation and interconnectedness of Africa and Europe.
