US Governors to Convene Governors’ Global Climate Summit [viewed]

Governors' Global Climate Summit November 2008: California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and

other US governors are co-hosting the Governors’ Global Climate Summit, which

will convene in Los Angeles, California, US, from 18-19 November 2008. In

addition to government and sub-national “climate leaders” from, inter alia,

China, India, the US, Brazil, Mexico and Canada, participants will include

representatives from non-governmental organizations, academia and the private

sector.

WMO Sponsors International Weather Forum [viewed]

An Awareness Campaign about Climate Change 9 November 2008: The Fifth International Weather Forum took

place from 6-9 November 2008, in Brussels, Belgium. The event was co-sponsored

by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the European Community,

MeteoFrance and other organizations. It brought together meteorologists,

experts in climate, journalists, weather presenters and broadcasters from all

over the world to discuss climate change and ways to better inform the public.

European Forest Conference Addresses Climate and Energy Challenges [viewed]

Forest-Based Sector: Bio-Responses to Address New Climate and Energy

Challenges?” took place from 6-8 November 2008, in Nancy, France. The

Conference aimed to provide policy makers with information regarding the role

of the forest-based sector in relation to the physical processes of the carbon

cycle, the competition between wood and other materials, and the energy market.
