other US governors are co-hosting the Governors’ Global Climate Summit, which
will convene in Los Angeles, California, US, from 18-19 November 2008. In
addition to government and sub-national “climate leaders” from, inter alia,
China, India, the US, Brazil, Mexico and Canada, participants will include
representatives from non-governmental organizations, academia and the private
sector.

place from 6-9 November 2008, in Brussels, Belgium. The event was co-sponsored
by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the European Community,
MeteoFrance and other organizations. It brought together meteorologists,
experts in climate, journalists, weather presenters and broadcasters from all
over the world to discuss climate change and ways to better inform the public.

Forest-Based Sector: Bio-Responses to Address New Climate and Energy
Challenges?” took place from 6-8 November 2008, in Nancy, France. The
Conference aimed to provide policy makers with information regarding the role
of the forest-based sector in relation to the physical processes of the carbon
cycle, the competition between wood and other materials, and the energy market.
