This symposium, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), is the third in the series under the ITU’s initiative on Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and climate change. It aims to highlight and discuss various issues that could help address the problem of climate change, including: ICT policies and policy frameworks to address climate change; reducing the carbon footprint of the ICT sector; using ICTs to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in other sectors; climate monitoring; climate change adaptation; deforestation; ICTs and emergencies; impact of new technologies on climate change; green technologies to mitigate climate change and financing solutions to climate change.
