The Office of the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights (OHCHR) will host the 2010 Social Forum on Climate Change and Human Rights, which will address: the adverse effects of climate change on the full enjoyment of human rights, including the right to life and economic, social and cultural rights; measures and actions to address the impact of climate change on the full enjoyment of human rights at the local, national, regional and international levels, including on most vulnerable groups, particularly women and children; and international assistance and cooperation in addressing the human rights related impact of climate change. The Forum is aimed to provide a dialogue avenue for NGOs to communicate with Human Rights Council (HRC) member States. The participants will include HRC member States, NGOs, UN agencies and academia representatives.
