UNEP Releases New Publication on the UNEP Climate Neutral Network

18dic_09_0117 December 2009: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has released a new publication entitled “A Case for Climate Neutrality,” which presents examples of  efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions and promote “green growth” at all levels.

The publication draws on the experiences of nearly 200 participants of the Climate Neutral Network (CN Net), including countries, regions, cities, companies and organizations that are moving towards a low-carbon pathway. The publication examines ten case studies, in the areas of transport, building and construction, food, banking and finance, media and advertising, event management, energy, and information and communication technologies (ICTs). Dilemmas faced on the path to climate neutrality, including carbon offsetting, uncertainty surrounding future policy and market regulations, and “greenwash” concerns, are also presented. The series of case studies was launched on 15 December 2009, at the iSeeT@theClimate Change Kiosk at the UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference.[UNEP Press Release][A Case For Climate Neutrality]
