The fifth Global Conference on Oceans, Coasts and Islands will address the challenges and opportunities posed by the emerging international consensus on a new climate regime, as developed through the UNFCCC in Copenhagen, in December 2009. Mitigation, adaptation, and financing issues will affect oceans, coasts, and small island States, which are at the frontline of climate changes.

...is a knowledge management project for international negotiations and related activities on climate change run by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), which is fully responsible for the content posted on Climate-L.org. Information on United Nations activities is provided in cooperation with the UN system agencies, funds and programmes through the United Nations System Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB) Secretariat and the UN Communications Group (UNCG) Task Force on Climate Change.
