The ninth session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA 9) and the 11th session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP 11) took place from 9-11 April 2010, in Bonn, Germany.

23 March 2010: During the fifth session of the World Urban Forum, being held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 22-26 March 2010, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT), and the World Bank jointly launched a Global Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Standard for cities.
