Workshop on Improving the Regional Distribution of CDM Projects in Asia and the Pacific

This workshop is organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in collaboration with the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat. It aims to increase the number of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects in countries currently hosting fewer than ten registered CDM projects. The workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge on recent developments on CDM modalities, identifying and overcoming barriers for the promotion of CDM projects in their countries and related technical, financial and policy issues. The workshop also offers one-on-one discussion with the ADB team of experts to discuss project structuring and options to move forward. The workshop is a first of a series targeting participation from seven countries with less than ten registered CDM projects, namely: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
