21 June 2010: The UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Bangladesh are supporting the island of St. Martin’s to develop strategies that offset or avoid biodiversity loss while promoting poverty reduction. 
15 June 2010: At a press conference held at UN Headquarters in New York, US, on 15 June 2010, the General Assembly President elect for the 65th session, Joseph Deiss ( Switzerland), outlined the priorities of his tenure, including human rights, the environment and environmental governance, as well as the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
18 June 2010: The Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has launched a survey to initiate consultations on possible joint activities among the three Rio Conventions, following a request by the 14th meeting of the CBD Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA 14), held from 10-21 May 2010, in Nairobi, Kenya.
17 June 2010: In statements marking World Day to Combat Desertification, celebrated annually on 17 June, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) Executive Secretary Luc Gnacadja have called attention to the interlinkages between soil, biodiversity and climate change.
14 June 2010: The Foreign Affairs Council of the EU, which met in Luxembourg on 14 June 2010, has agreed on the EU position on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) ahead of the UN General Assembly High-Level Plenary Meeting scheduled to take place in New York, US, in September 2010. The position includes references to climate change and climate finance. 
4 June 2010: The UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the Hazar Nature Reserve, located on the Caspian Sea Coast of Turkmenistan, are developing adaptive approaches to promote the conservation of biodiversity in the reserve. The project, implemented in collaboration with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the Ministry of Nature Protection of Turkmenistan, aims to predict and map the effects of climate change, including rapid change of the shoreline, the emergence of new islands, the disappearance of existing landscapes, and biodiversity loss.
