4 December 2009: The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the city of Copenhagen, Denmark, organized a Children's Climate Forum from 28 November-4 December 2009, in the run up to the 15th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 15).
6 December 2009: One day ahead of the opening of the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, UNFCCC Executive Secretary Yvo de Boer underlined that negotiators have "the clearest signal ever from world leaders to craft solid proposals to implement rapid action."
4 December 2009: The first session of the Committee on Environment and Development of the UN Environment and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) convened from 2-4 December 2009, in Bangkok, Thailand, and focused its discussions on development through Green Growth. 
4 December 2009: Representatives of the Swedish Presidency of the EU and the European Commission held consultations with the Ambassadors to Brussels of 78 African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries in order to identify key issues for joint work during and after the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference.
4 December 2009: The UN-REDD Programme has released a Media Pack titled "Reporting REDD" to provide journalists with an overview of issues related to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD) ahead of the 15th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 15).
4 December 2009: The Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Hamadoun Touré, has called on delegates who will attend the 15th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 15) to take advantage of the potential of advanced technologies to dramatically reduce emissions across a wide range of industrial sectors.
4 December 2009: The Second Committee (Economic and Financial) of the UN General Assembly has approved 11 draft resolutions, including a text on the protection of global climate for present and future generations of humankind.
2 December 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the latest edition of its newsletter, which looks ahead to the 15th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 15). 
2 December 2009: The UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UN/ISDR), in partnership with the Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly, convened the International Roundtable of Parliamentarians on Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation in Malta, on 24 November 2009, which adopted the Malta Declaration of the Commitment of Parliamentarians to COP15 and Beyond.
