2 December 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has received three further submissions (FCCC/AWGLCA/2009/MISC.9) from intergovernmental organizations on ideas and proposals on the elements contained in paragraph 1 of the Bali Action Plan for the eighth session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA).
1 December 2009: In his opening statement to the Women's International Forum held in New York, US, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon highlighted that, beyond being the most affected by climate change and other social problems, women must be recognized as principal agents in curbing global warming and achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
1 December 2009: In a video address on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Antarctic Treaty, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stressed the threat posed by climate change to the Antarctic ecosystem.
1 December 2009: The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has released a policy brief that identifies opportunities in the agriculture sector to address challenges relating to development, food security and climate change mitigation and adaptation. 
1 December: The African Union Commission (AUC) and the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) are meeting to discuss improved cooperation in the area of climate change, among other areas.
1 December 2009: The judges' scores for the UNFCCC Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) International Photo and Video Contest 2009 have been tallied and 25 photos and eight videos have been shortlisted. 
30 November 2009: The staff of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) took part in a training workshop on climate change, delivered by the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the UNFCCC Secretariat, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) from 17-20 November 2009.
30 November 2009: The first session of the Committee on Environment and Development of the UN Environment and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) is convening from 2-4 December 2009, in Bangkok, Thailand, and will focus on development through Green Growth.
