October 2009: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has launched a synthesis report on the biodiversity/resilience/stability relationship in forest ecosystems. 
24 September 2009: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has released a report entitled “Climate Change Science Compendium 2009.” The report, compiled in association with scientists around the world, reviews some 400 major scientific contributions to our understanding of Earth Systems and climate change that have been released through peer-reviewed literature, or from research institutions, over the last three years. 
17 September 2009: The Second Committee (Economic and Financial) of the UN General Assembly has decided to discuss the protection of global climate for present and future generations. 
11 September 2009: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has released a new version of its Biofuels Sustainability Scorecard, which will enable users to better anticipate the impacts of potential biofuel projects on sensitive issues such as indigenous rights, carbon emissions from land use change, and food security. 
September 2009: The Global Environment Facility (GEF) has published a booklet portraying its activities to combat land degradation and desertification.
