16 June 2009: The UN Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries (UN-REDD Programme) held its second Policy Board Meeting from 14-15 June 2009, in Montreux, Switzerland.
6 June 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has posted five proposals by parties for a protocol under the Convention, which will be considered by the Conference of the Parties at its 15th session, scheduled to take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, in December 2009. 
18 June 2009: The UN General Assembly’s (UNGA) interactive thematic dialogue on “Energy efficiency, energy conservation and new and renewable sources of energy” took place at UN Headquarters in New York, US, on 18 June. 
17 June 2009: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon launched a high-level Energy and Climate Change Advisory Group, which will bring together business leaders, experts and energy practitioners to advise him on climate change and energy challenges. 
13 June 2009: “On the Frontlines of Climate Change,” an internet forum launched by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in partnership with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the Secretariat of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), has published an article on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD). The article, titled “The Drying of the Tana Delta, Kenya,” highlights perspectives from Kenya on early impacts of climate change.
