1 February 2010: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has issued its first newsletter. The January issue begins with a message from IPCC Chair Rajendra Pachauri, in which he reflects on the Panel's work in January related to the Fifth Assessment Report (AR5). Chair Pachauri also notes recent media developments around the IPCC, but expresses belief "that the truth will prevail and the mal-intent of those who are behind the falsehoods that are being produced in the media would be exposed."
29 January 2010: The UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) convened, in cooperation with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the 42nd session of the ESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee.
25 January 2010: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has released a statement on trends in disaster losses. 
13 January 2010: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Australia will provide funding for a project to support adaptation in Viet Nam’s low-lying Mekong Delta region.
22 January 2009: The fifth issue of the UN-REDD Programme Newsletter provides an overview of events surrounding the UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference related to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD). These events included the production by the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) of a draft decision on methodological issues, which was adopted by the 15th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 15), and references to REDD being included in the Copenhagen Accord.
21 January 2009: The Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), a member of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), has released a paper titled "Financial governance and Indonesia's Reforestation Fund during the Soeharto and post-Soeharto periods, 1989-2009." 
20 January 2010: The UN Economic Comission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) have signed an agreement to produce a series of studies on the economics of climate change in eight South American countries. 
20 January 2010: The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) has informed on its ongoing work towards the establishment of a Global Cryosphere Watch to serve societal needs for weather, climate and water, and related environmental information and services. 
16 January 2010: Climate change was among the items discussed during the fifth Annual Inter-Secretariat Meeting on General Cooperation between the African Union (AU) and the League of Arab States, which met at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, Egypt, on 16 January 2010.
December 2009: Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), has stated that emissions reduction targets outlined in Copenhagen are insufficient.
