17 June 2009: The World Meteorological Organization (WMO), in cooperation with 20 partner institutions, launched the HelpDesk for Integrated Flood Management (IFM HelpDesk) during the Second Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, which took place in Geneva, Switzerland.
13 June 2009: “On the Frontlines of Climate Change,” an internet forum launched by the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in partnership with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the Secretariat of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), has published an article on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD). The article, titled “The Drying of the Tana Delta, Kenya,” highlights perspectives from Kenya on early impacts of climate change. 
15 June: The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has published the June edition of its newsletter MeteoWorld, which reviews recent WMO activities, including progress in organizing World Climate Conference-3 (WCC-3), which is scheduled to take place from 31 August-4 September 2009, in Geneva, Switzerland. 
8 June 2009: The World Meteorological Organization (WMO), through the National Meteorological and Hydrological Services, and the GLOBE Program (Global Learning Observations to Benefit the Environment) are inviting young people to create compelling, short messages on the topic: “Youth working to solve local problems through weather and climate research.” A selection of the messages submitted will be displayed at the third World Climate Conference (WCC-3), scheduled to take place from 31 August-4 September 2009, in Geneva, Switzerland. 
9 June 2009: The UN Chief Executives Board (CEB) organized a panel, on the sidelines of the climate change talks being held in Bonn, Germany, to present UN-REDD, a collaborative initiative of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) that assists forested developing countries and the international community gain experience with REDD. 
5 June 2009: The Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has published an “Environmental Performance Review of Finland,” which notes that in 2006 Finland’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions had increased by 13% compared to 1990 levels, well above the country’s Kyoto commitment of 0%. 
3 June 2009: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is inviting parties to participate in the peer-review of the first and second meetings of the Second Ad Hoc Technical Expert Group (AHTEG) on biodiversity and climate change.
