31 March 2009: The Global Environment Facility’s (GEF) Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel (STAP) held a workshop on 31 March 2009, in Washington DC, US, to develop the Panel’s scientific and technical guidance for the fifth GEF Replenishment (GEF-5) strategic programming on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD), forest conservation and sustainable forest management (SFM).
31 March 2009: The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) organized the Global Meeting of the Intergovernmental Coordination Groups (ICG) for Tsunami Warning Systems, which convened from 24-27 March 2009, in Paris, France. 
27 March 2009: The UN Department of Public Information (DPI) has launched an On-line Inventory of UN System Activities on Climate Change. The inventory is available through the Gateway to the UN System’s Work on Climate Change, and is intended to provide information on activities underway throughout the UN system in response to the global climate change challenge.

29 March 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the report of the individual review of the greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory submissions of Hungary submitted in 2007 and 2008 (FCCC/ARR/2008/HUN). 
27 March 2009: The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Focus Group on Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and Climate Change has developed standardized methodologies to calculate the impact of ICTs on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. 
27 March 2009: The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Government of Finland have established a €14 million partnership titled “Sustainable Forest Management in a Changing Climate.”
