4 May 2009: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has established an Advisory Group of seven eminent persons to advise the Bank on how to strengthen its programmes to meet the global challenge of climate change. The Advisory Group on Climate Change and Sustainable Development will help ADB management consider ways to assist ADB’s developing member countries move their economies onto low-carbon development paths and address the social impacts of climate change.

30 April 2009: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the report of the individual review of the 2007 and 2008 greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory submissions of the UK (FCCC/ARR/2008/GBR). The expert review team (ERT) finds the inventory to be generally in line with the Revised 1996 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Guidelines, the IPCC good practice guidance and the IPCC good practice guidance for land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF).
