19 March 2010: The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) highlighted its plans to invest significantly in Viet Nam during a visit to ICRAF headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, by Vietnamese representatives. The meeting focused on how the Centre and Viet Nam's Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation could collaborate, in particular on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD).
16 March 2010: The Human Rights Council Advisory Committee presented a "Preliminary study on discrimination in the context of the right to food" (A/HRC/13/32) for consideration by the 13th session of the UN Human Rights Council, which is meeting from 1-26 March 2010, in Geneva, Switzerland. 
15 March 2010: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has released a report titled "Environment Outlook for the Arab Region: Environment for Development and Human Well-being," which outlines the multiple challenges facing the Arab region, from climate change and food insecurity to decreasing water availability and unemployment. 
15 March 2010: The UN Secretary-General has released a report titled “Keeping the promise: a forward-looking review to promote an agreed action agenda to achieve the Millennium Development Goals by 2015” (A/64/665). The report presents information on progress made in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and calls for a new pact to accelerate the progress in achieving the goals.
12 March 2010: The UN Economic Commission for Africa’s (UNECA) Sub-Regional Office for Eastern Africa (SRO-EA) has published a report that highlights the effects of climate change on food security in East Africa. 
12 March 2010: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Stockholm Convention Secretariat has informed it will carry out a 12-month international study of the influence of climate change and persistent organic pollutants (POPs) on human health and the environment. The study, which was announced during the fifth Environment and Health Ministerial Conference held in Parma, Italy, from 10-12 March 2010, will involve over 10 organizations in five countries and will review the latest science to inform the assessment of current and new POPs.
10 March 2010: Researchers from the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and the International Crop Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) have released a paper titled "Climate change impacts on livestock production and adaptation strategies: A global scenario." The paper was presented at the National Symposium on Climate Change and Rainfed Agriculture, which convened from 18-20 February 2010, in Hyderbad, India. 
1 March 2010: The International Food Policy Research Institute's (IFPRI) new project, Global Futures for Agriculture, will evaluate promising technologies, investments and policy reforms to improve agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability in developing countries.
