Event: Multi-stakeholder Dialogue on Implementing Sustainable Development

ASB Partnership for Tropical Forest Margins and the World Agroforestry Centre Release Briefs on Emissions from All Land Uses

4jan_10_10December 2009: The Alternatives to Slash and Burn (ASB) Partnership for Tropical Forest Margins and the World Agroforestry Centre, members of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), have released two policy briefs on the implications of ambiguous forest definitions for a REDD-plus (reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, including conservation, sustainable forest management (SFM) and stock enhancement) mechanism and on the case for moving towards a Reducing Emissions from All Land Uses (REALU) mechanism under the UNFCCC.
