December 2009: The World Agroforestry Centre and Alternatives to Slash and Burn (ASB) Partnership for the Tropical Forest Margins, members of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), launched a series of policy briefs alongside the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference in December 2009. 
1 January 2010: LG Electronics (LGE) has partnered with the World Food Programme (WFP) to support the WFP's work on food security and resilience to climate change in Ethiopia. 
16 December 2009: The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has joined the Adaptation Learning Mechanism (ALM), a collaborative knowledge-sharing platform on climate change adaptation. The FAO will strengthen the agriculture component of the platform and link its existing agricultural technology database (TECA) to ALM.
15 December 2009: The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) co-sponsored the Inter-Regional Workshop on Indices and Early Warning Systems for Drought, which took place at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, US, from 8-11 December 2009.
December 2009: The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), a member of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), has released its 2008-2009 corporate report highlighting challenges at the interface of climate, livestock and poverty. 
December 2009: The Alternatives to Slash and Burn (ASB) Partnership for Tropical Forest Margins and the World Agroforestry Centre, members of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), have released two policy briefs on the implications of ambiguous forest definitions for a REDD-plus (reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries, including conservation, sustainable forest management (SFM) and stock enhancement) mechanism and on the case for moving towards a Reducing Emissions from All Land Uses (REALU) mechanism under the UNFCCC.
