This meeting will consider broader reform of international environmental governance. A second meeting is expected to take place in November 2010, possibly in Helsinki, Finland. The purpose of these meetings is to prepare a report to inform the next meeting of the UNEP Governing Council in February 2011 and provide input to the UNCSD (also called Rio+20) process.
7 June 2010: The UN-REDD Programme is supporting countries in their efforts to ensure that biodiversity and social safeguards are being met when implementing mechanisms for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD+). 
6 June 2010: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has announced that Jens Stoltenberg, Prime Minister of Norway, has accepted his invitation to become, with immediate effect, the Co-Chair of the UN High-level Advisory Group on Climate Change Financing.
May 2010: The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and RECOFTC-Center for People and Forests have released a report on perspectives for Asia-Pacific with regard to forests and climate change following the 15th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 15), which took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, in December 2009. 
May 2010: The UN Secretariat has released the report of the 12th session of the Committee for Development Policy (E/2010/33), which took place from 22-26 March 2010, in New York, US. 
1 June 2010: The UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP), together with the British High Commission and the Government of Malaysia, convened the Malaysian Green Growth Policy Tools Workshop for Low Carbon Development, from 18-19 May 2010, in Putrajaya, Malaysia. 
30 May 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released the report of the Expert Group on Technology Transfer (EGTT) (FCCC/SB/2010/INF.1).
