CSD 18 Reviews Policies Related to Transport, Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns

14 May 2010: Delegates at the 18th session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD 18) focused on the thematic cluster of transport, chemicals, waste management, mining, and sustainable consumption and production patterns, and conducted a one-day preparatory committee meeting for the five-year high-level review of the Mauritius Strategy for the Implementation (MSI+5) of the Barbados Plan of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

UNECE Launches Pilot Projects on Adaptation in Transboundary Basins

14 May 2010:The UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) has launched a new programme of pilot projects aimed at promoting cooperation on adaptation to climate change under the UNECE Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes (UNECE Water Convention). The Programme was launched at the workshop “Water and Climate Change- How to Develop an Adaptation Strategy in Transboundary Basins,” which took place from 10-11 May 2010, in Geneva, Switzerland.
