14 May 2010: Delegates at the 18th session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD 18) focused on the thematic cluster of transport, chemicals, waste management, mining, and sustainable consumption and production patterns, and conducted a one-day preparatory committee meeting for the five-year high-level review of the Mauritius Strategy for the Implementation (MSI+5) of the Barbados Plan of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
14 May 2010:The UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) has launched a new programme of pilot projects aimed at promoting cooperation on adaptation to climate change under the UNECE Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes (UNECE Water Convention). The Programme was launched at the workshop “Water and Climate Change- How to Develop an Adaptation Strategy in Transboundary Basins,” which took place from 10-11 May 2010, in Geneva, Switzerland. 
12 May 2010: UN Secretary-General addressed the UN Association of Canada in Ottawa on 12 May 2010, focusing on peacekeeping and climate change. On the latter, while underlining that "we are running out of time," Secretary-General Ban underlined that there is hope because climate change has become a top priority for world leaders. 
11 May 2010: During a visit to the Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the EU expressed an interest in forging a deeper partnership with UNECA on various development issues, including climate change and land ownership in Africa. 
10 May 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has released a progress report on the work of the Consultative Group of Experts (CGE) on National Communications from Parties not included in Annex I to the Convention(FCCC/SBI/2010/INF.2).
11 May 2010: The Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC) Representatives Meeting took place on 11 May 2010, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to take stock of developments so far and chart out strategies in the run up to the 16th session of the Conference of Parties to the UNFCCC (COP 16), in Cancun, Mexico, at the end of 2010.
11 May 2010: Connie Hedegaard, European Commissioner for Climate Action, met Efthimios Mitropoulos, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), at the Organization's headquarters in London, UK, on 11 May 2010, to discuss issues of mutual concern.
10 May 2010: The UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UN/ISDR) Secretariat has released the Second External Evaluation of the UN/ISDR, initiated by the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and major UN/ISDR donors, as well a Management Response to the evaluation.
