31 January 2010: Silva Mediterranea, a statutory body of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) that provides a forum for discussion on forestry issues in Mediterranean countries, has released its second newsletter. This issue focuses on forest genetic resources as a key issue for adaptation of Mediterranean forests to climate change.

African Union Commission President Satisfied With Copenhagen Financing

28 January 2010: Speaking at the opening of the 16th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU), which took place from 28- 29 January 2010, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Jean Ping, President of the AU Commission, highlighted that necessary financing to support climate change adaptation in Africa was identified at the UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference, as a result of the common position presented by African countries at the meeting.
