16 January 2010: EU Environmental Ministers discussed initial steps to be taken following the UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference at an informal meeting organized by the Spanish Presidency in Seville, Spain, on 16 January 2010. 
15 January 2010: Ján Kubiš, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), held a Town Hall meeting on 15 January 2010, in Geneva, Switzerland, to outline priorities for 2010. 
14 January 2010: The Investor Summit on Climate Risk, under the theme "Developing a Low-Carbon Economy: Leveraging Private Investment," took place on 14 January 2010, at UN Headquarters in New York, US, and brought together 450 global investors. 
January 2010: The UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) has released a brochure titled "Clearing the Air: 30th Anniversary of the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution," which reviews the Convention's three decades of achievements in protecting human health, agriculture, freshwater, and historic and cultural monuments. 
January 2010: The five UN Regional Commissions have released a report on the support they provide, by region and thematic area, to combating climate change, titled "The United Nations Regional Commissions and the Climate Change Challenges."
11 January 2010: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon identified his priorities for 2010 during an address to the UN General Assembly. 
6 January 2010: The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) has registered its 2,000th project, a biogas extraction and utilization project in Thailand, expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 56,000 tons annually.
