5 February 2010: The UNFCCC Secretariat has published the report of the tenth session of Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP) (FCCC/KP/AWG/2009/17) and the report of the eighth session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action (AWG-LCA) (FCCC/AWGLCA/2009/17), which were held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 7-15 December 2009.
7 February 2010: Several UN experts participated in the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit, titled “Beyond Copenhagen: New Pathways to Sustainable Development,” which was held in New Delhi, India, from 5-7 February 2010, and organized by the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).
5 February 2010: The Heads of State and government of the African Union (AU) adopted a decision on climate change during the 14th ordinary session of the AU Conference, held from 31 January-2 February 2010, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
3 February 2010: Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), highlighted that upcoming meetings in the first half of 2010, such as the OECD-International Energy Agency (IEA) Annex I Expert Group meetings in February and April, as well as a workshop on new issues in carbon markets, provide opportunities to make progress in climate change negotiations leading to the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC, scheduled to take place in November-December 2010, in Cancun, Mexico. 
3 February 2010: The International Energy Agency (IEA) has released a report titled “Energy Policies of IEA Countries – Italy,” which evaluates both thematic policy issues such as energy efficiency and climate change, as well as sectoral policies, as it delves into renewables, electricity, natural gas, oil, coal and nuclear energies. 
2 February 2010: The UN University (UNU) hosted the 16th U Thant Distinguished Lecture with President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa of Mexico on “Preserving Our Common Heritage: Promoting a Fair Agreement on Climate Change.” The event was convened in collaboration with Asahi Shimbun and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES). 
1 February 2010: The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has released a practical guide titled “Making Protected Areas Relevant: A Guide to Integrating Protected Areas into Wider Landscapes, Seascapes and Sectoral Plans and Strategies.” Such integration is considered to be imperative in order to address the adverse impacts of climate change.
