1 December 2009: The Climate Change Programme of the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), together with its consortium partner MWH Global, has secured a contract to implement the EU-funded Global Climate Change Alliance (GCCA).
24 November 2009: The second South Korea-Africa Forum, titled "United for a New Partnership," convened in Seoul, Republic of Korea, from 23-25 November 2009, and addressed cooperation related to climate change.
23 November 2009: The UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Health Organization (WHO), with the support of the International Energy Agency (IEA), have released a new report titled "The Energy Access Situation in Developing Countries: A Review Focusing on the Least Developed Countries and Sub-Saharan Africa." The report indicates that over 1.5 billion people currently lack access to electricity.
11 November 2009: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Swedish Government co-hosted a climate change conference on 11 November 2009, in Nairobi, Kenya, to raise awareness of the implications of climate change for Kenya’s economy and vulnerable groups.
10 November 2009: In an official visit to Mali, UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Executive Director Ann Veneman discussed the impacts of climate change on child health, stressing that it could increase the numbers of undernourished people in the near future. 
10 November 2009: UN Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator Helen Clark and Spanish Secretary of State for International Cooperation Soraya Rodriguez have signed a multi-year Strategic Partnership Agreement primarily supporting UNDP projects targeting poverty and addressing climate change. 
5 November 2009: Regional discussions to identify support needed by Africa in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) highlighted the role of climate change. 
6 November 2009: The Tenth India- EU Summit addressed international negotiations on climate change, energy cooperation and environment-related loans. The event took place in New Delhi, India, on 6 November 2009, between Sweden’s Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, representing the EU Swedish Presidency, European Commission President José Manuel Barroso, and India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
5 November 2009: The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) released a report titled “Food Security and Agricultural Mitigation in Developing Countries: Options for Capturing Synergies,” at the Barcelona Climate Change Talks.
October 2009: The UN Development Programme (UNDP) is the implementing agency for a Global Environment Facility-funded (GEF) project to build up the resilience and adaption capacity of mountain forest ecosystems in Armenia, a biodiversity hotspot area containing half of the region’s floral diversity, to protect against climate change effects.
