4 December 2009: The first session of the Committee on Environment and Development of the UN Environment and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) convened from 2-4 December 2009, in Bangkok, Thailand, and focused its discussions on development through Green Growth.
26 November 2009: The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have signed a cooperation agreement to share their expertise in support of sustainable development, including on the economics of climate change.
20 November 2009: Speaking at the launch of a study titled "The Economics of Climate Change in Chile," Alicia Bárcena, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), noted that the impact of climate change in Latin America and the Caribbean will be considerable and stressed the need for the region to contribute to negotiations in the UN Climate Change Conference scheduled to take place in Copenhagen. 
18 November 2009: The Adaptation Fund Board accepted the offer by Germany to confer legal capacity and host the Adaptation Fund Board (AFB) in Bonn.
16 November 2009: The European Investment Bank (EIB) announced an 80 million Euro loan to finance the construction and commissioning of a concentrated solar power (CSP) plant in Fuentes de Andalucía, Spain. 
5 November 2009: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is issuing a set of guidelines to finance coal-fired power plants in order to ensure they use among the best available technologies to reduce their emissions of greenhouse gases and other pollutants. 
October 2009: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has published an overview and strategic framework for biofuels development in the Greater Mekong Subregion.
