This UN University (UNU) event will feature as guest speaker Dr. William Antholis, Managing Director of Brookings Institution. The event will focus on global climate regime governance by examining the importance of building and maintaining trust between nations and by drawing on lessons learned from the experience of the global trading regime. The event will be moderated by Jean-Marc Coicaud, Director of the UNU New York Office.
14 January 2010: The Investor Summit on Climate Risk, under the theme "Developing a Low-Carbon Economy: Leveraging Private Investment," took place on 14 January 2010, at UN Headquarters in New York, US, and brought together 450 global investors. 
3 January 2010: The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) has highlighted its efforts to promote a low carbon, resource efficient Green Economy in the 21st century. According to UNEP, its strategy has focused on three priority areas: ecosystems-based adaptation; reduced emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries (REDD); and clean technology readiness.
29 December 2009: The World Bank has approved two Global Environment Facility (GEF) grants to fund clean energy transport in Mexican and Brazilian cities.
21 December 2009: In his briefing to the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on the outcome of the UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon identified a number of tasks that the international community should now undertake.
18 December 2009: The Governments of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain took part in a ceremony on 18 December 2009, at UN Headquarters in New York, US, to indicate their support for the International Tropical Timber Agreement, 2006 (ITTA, 2006).
16 December 2009: Countries governing the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) have endorsed the use of a total of US$800 million from the CIF Clean Technology Fund (CTF) for a range of climate activities in the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam.
15 December 2009: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) approved a US$102 million loan in partial financing for two wind power projects totaling 318 MW in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico.
