20 January 2010: The UN Economic Comission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) have signed an agreement to produce a series of studies on the economics of climate change in eight South American countries.
20 January 2009: The Global Environment Facility (GEF) has approved an emergency project to help restore power, which was lost from the Port au Prince earthquake, to key medical facilities and refugee camps. The US$3 million grant, co-financed with matching grants from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the World Bank Group, will use solar energy to produce clean electricity for medical centers, vaccine refrigeration and other critical relief efforts. 
15 January 2010: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), among others, co-sponsored an event titled "Transforming transportation 2010," which took place in Washington DC, US, on 14-15 January 2010. 
14 January 2010: The UN launched “Business.UN.org,” a new website designed to match the needs of UN organizations with the resources and capacities of the private sector. 
December 2009: Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), has stated that emissions reduction targets outlined in Copenhagen are insufficient.
