The 43rd Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A seminar will be held on 2 March on Implementing the Copenhagen Climate Change Agreement in Asia and the Pacific.
20 January 2010: The UN Environment and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) convened the High-level Asia-Pacific Policy Dialogue from 18-20 January, in Dakar, Bangladesh. 
20 January 2010: Addressing the Asian Financial Forum taking place in Hong Kong, China, from 20-21 January 2010, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Dominique Strauss-Kahn, highlighted the challenges of transforming the global economy and the "immense importance to the long-term welfare of us all" of tackling climate change.
19 January 2010: The World Bank launched online consultations to receive input from civil society on its new energy sector strategy and how the World Bank Group can best help developing countries improve access to and the reliability of energy, while helping them shift to a more environmentally sustainable energy development path. 
8 January 2010: The European Investment Bank (EIB) and MAN Group Munich have entered into a EUR 300m loan contract for the development and launch of reduced-emission and fuel-efficient powertrains for trucks and buses.
January 2010: The World Bank has issued a discussion paper titled "Monitoring and Reporting on Financial Flows Related to Climate Change," and is seeking comments. The study was prepared by the World Bank in consultation with the UNFCCC and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
